The red-hot Thiel Tomcats continued their winning ways at Grove City on Thursday night with a convincing 72-50 victory. The win was Thiel’s third in a row and fifth in the last six games. Grove City led 11-9 in the early going before Thiel used a 12-2 run to take the lead for good. The Tomcats stretched out their lead to as much as 24 points in the second half thanks in part to the consistent play of Marlon Ellerbee. The junior guard netted a team-high 14 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field. Ellerbee added four rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal. For his all-around play, Ellerbee took home the Foster Law Offices Player of the game award for the second time already this season.
