The Thiel Tomcats pulled to 3-3 in conference play on Tuesday night with an exciting 88-85 home win over Franciscan. The Barons jumped out to 17-2 lead in the first half, but the Tomcats responded with a 15-4 run and outlasted the visitors in the second half. A big reason for the first half comeback and steady play in the second half was junior guard Marlon Ellerbee, who netted a career-best 29 points. Additionally, Ellerbee converted on 13-of-14 from the charity stripe to help Thiel seize the victory in the waning minutes. For his contributions, Ellerbee was tabbed the Foster Law Offices Player of the Game by the PAC Sports Network.
