The W&J Presidents climbed into a first-place tie with Chatham on Wednesday night thanks to a hard-fought 68-63 win over Waynesburg. Tied 55-55 with just under five minutes to play, sophomore Nick Gearhart gave the Presidents the lead with a clutch 3-pointer. After Waynesburg tied the game at 58-58 with 2:38 remaining, Gearhart again put W&J in front with a driving layup for a 60-58 advantage. The Gearhart layup initiated an 8-0 run that propelled the Presidents to the win. On the night, Gearhart finished with a game-high 23 points and connected on 3-of-6 attempts from beyond the arc to earn Foster Law Offices Player of the Game honors. Its the third time this season Gearhart has received the award from the PAC Sports Network.
