The Waynesburg Yellow Jackets earned an important 78-73 road victory at Geneva on Saturday to improve to 4-1 in PAC play. In a game that featured nine ties and 12 lead changes, the Yellow Jackets got the spark they needed early in the second half. Trailing 40-32 coming out of halftime, senior guard Matt Popeck personally sparked a 12-0 run with four straight 3-pointers to give Waynesburg a 44-40 lead. While the lead changed hand several times before Waynesburg prevailed, the opening salvo by Popeck to start the second half helped propel the team to victory. After scoring just five points in the first half, Popeck finished with a game-high 31 point effort en route to the Foster Law Offices Player of the Game honors.
