In a battle of unbeatens, Saint Vincent won a thriller at Grove City on Monday night with a 78-74 overtime victory. The win puts the Bearcats in the driver’s seat for the No. 1 seed in the upcoming PAC Tournament. In a game that was nip and tuck throughout, sophomore center Ella Marconi gave the Bearcats the edge they needed to prevail, especially in the second half and overtime. Marconi scored all 15 of her points following intermission and helped SVC win the battle of the boards with 14 rebounds. Her nine blocks tied the single-game program record, last accomplished by Taylor Mathers vs. Westminster on December 7, 2013. Coming just one block shy of a triple-double, and setting new career bests in points and blocks, Marconi was selected as the AHN Player of the Game by the PAC Sports Network.
