Under second-year head coach Michael Grinder, the Geneva Golden Tornadoes earned a convincing 85-61 victory at Franciscan University in their season opener. With eight newcomers to the roster, including seven freshman, it was rookie guard Cynthia Stewart who earned the AHN Player of the Game Award. One of four players that posted double digits in scoring, Stewart netted 13 points. In a strong all-around performance, Stewart added four steals, three rebounds and two assists in an impressive PAC debut.
