The fifth-seeded Bethany Bison advanced to the PAC’s Final Four for the first time since the 2011-2012 season with a 64-44 win at fourth-seeded Chatham on Tuesday night in the PAC quarterfinals. The Bison won the battle of the boards, 53-26, and played a hard-nosed defense that limited a typically good perimeter shooting team to just 4-of-26 shooting from beyond the arc. The tone was set on the opening possession of the game when freshman guard Ashleigh Wheeler took a charge. Wheeler led the Bison’s stampede with a game-high 19 points, eight rebounds, three steals and three assists. For her outstanding all-around performance, Wheeler was selected as the Foster Law Offices Player of the Game.
