Women’s Basketball – Chatham
#34 Brittani Smith
6-0 Senior Forward
Stat Line: 15 points, 12 rebounds, 2 blocks
On the strength of a big fourth quarter, the Chatham Cougars broke open a close game and ran away with an 84-67 victory at Geneva on Saturday night. It was an historic night for graduate student Maddy Grennes, who corralled a Chatham single-game record 17 rebounds. While it was Grennes who etched her name into the record book, senior forward Brittani Smith was the key figure in Chatham’s decisive fourth period. Chatham led by four entering the final period and outscored the Golden Tornadoes, 24-11, the rest of the way. Smith netted nine of her 15 points in the final stanza to help the Cougars pull away. Smith also pulled down 12 rebounds for a double-double, earning her AHN Player of the Game honors from the PAC Sports Network.
