In their first ever PAC game, the Franciscan University Barons made quite a splash with a 100-88 win at Bethany. With a new-look, up-tempo style of play, the Barons reached the 100-point plateau for only the second time ever in the program’s NCAA Division III era. In a back-and-forth contest, the game was tied 74-74 with eight minutes to play before Franciscan took control. Sparked by a pressure defense that forced 19 turnovers, the Barons outscored the Bison 26-14 in the remaining minutes. While four other players reached double figures for Franciscan, sophomore guard Christian Nguyen was selected as the AHN Player of the Game for his part in facilitating the game-ending run. Nguyen finished with nine points, four assists and two steals that helped put Bethany away late.
